Disney and Netflix Sign Global Licensing Deal for Select Film and TV Titles

Will Trent Seasons 1–4 are scheduled to arrive on Netflix globally on November 3, ahead of the show’s fifth-season premiere on ABC in early 2027.
Shifting Gears Seasons 1–2 are due on Netflix in the U.S. on December 1 and overseas in January; Tracker Seasons 1–3 are slated for Netflix internationally, outside the U.S., on February 26, 2027.
The agreement also covers library series including Felicity, Revenge, Army Wives and Fresh Off the Boat, with availability varying by region.
Disney and Netflix have signed a nonexclusive licensing deal that brings selected Disney, Pixar, and 20th Century titles to Netflix while keeping them available on Disney+ and Hulu. Starting October 4, Netflix will carry the first two seasons of Percy Jackson and the Olympians and all five Ice Age films worldwide for a limited three-month window, Cosmic Book News reported.
The deal generates licensing revenue for Disney while broadening exposure for its franchises ahead of major releases. Percy Jackson's third season arrives on Disney+ later, and a new Ice Age film is planned for February 2027. Other titles, including Will Trent, Shifting Gears, and Tracker, will follow with varying regional availability.
Netflix will debut Percy Jackson and the Olympians Seasons 1-2 and all five Ice Age movies on October 4, A.V. Club confirmed. The three-month window gives viewers time to catch up before the third Percy Jackson season drops on Disney+. This limited-time approach protects Disney's streaming service while allowing Netflix access to premium content.

Pixar's Soul and Elio, along with Raya and the Last Dragon and other animated films, are expected to arrive on Netflix starting in early 2027. WDW Info also reported that the agreement covers library series including Felicity, Revenge, Army Wives, and Fresh Off the Boat, with availability varying by region and streaming platform.
The nonexclusive deal lets Disney earn licensing fees while maintaining premiere status on its own streaming services. A.V. Club noted that Disney now recognizes it can license exclusive content to Netflix in exchange for revenue. This hybrid approach keeps flagship Disney+ originals exclusive while allowing Netflix to access carefully timed library content and older franchises.
