United Airlines Tests New App-Based Food Ordering Program for Passengers at Newark Airport

United Airlines is testing a new service that allows passengers to order food, drinks, and even a few travel necessities through the United app before boarding. The pilot program is currently running at Newark Liberty International Airport in Terminal C, covering select flights and designated gates. The service allows eligible passengers to pick up their orders near their gate instead of wandering around the terminal. The initial program involves up to nine designated gates in TerminalC, with United working with airport hospitality company OTG and participating restaurants to prepare and move orders. The airline plans to bring the pilot to Houston later this year with more restaurant choices and the possibility of having food delivered directly to the gate.
