Disney College Program Participant Dies After Florida Lightning Strike

Matthew Eric Jenkins, a 20-year-old Michigan man, was found unresponsive after a lightning strike near downtown Celebration, Florida. The victim was identified as Jenkins, who had moved to Central Florida to participate in the Disney College Program. Witnesses were sheltering from the rain when lightning struck nearby, causing Jenkins to collapse. Jenkins was rushed to Celebration Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The exact cause of death is pending the medical examiner's determination.
