Chi Phi Fraternity Expels Cornell Students Following Sexual Assault Lawsuit

Chi Phi Fraternity expelled members from Cornell University after a woman reported being sexually assaulted in 2024 after receiving drugs and alcohol. Trey Robb, the interim executive director of Chi Phi’s national organization, stated that the Cornell chapter voted to dismiss the men three days after the woman’ account was reported to the police. Robb stated that these actions went beyond anything the law or Cornell University required of them. The woman, identified only as Jane Doe, has filed a lawsuit alleging she was sexually assaulted on the campus in Ithaca, N.Y.
