Multiple Vehicle Crashes Across the US Leave 11 Injured and Close Highways

A four-vehicle crash on westbound Interstate 393 in Concord, New Hampshire, seriously injured one driver and hurt another, temporarily closing the highway. In Sodus, New York, a collision at Route 104 and Rotterdam Road injured a driver and two children, whose injuries were not life-threatening. A two-vehicle crash near Dana Drive in Gem Village sent both drivers and a passenger to a hospital; their conditions were not reported. Emergency crews responded to a three-vehicle crash on South Main Street in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, where one person declined medical treatment. In Saugerties, New York, a driver who swerved to avoid a deer crossed into oncoming traffic, causing a head-on collision that injured three people; none had life-threatening injuries.
In the Concord crash, a Good Samaritan helped troopers free the seriously injured driver from his vehicle. Westbound I-393 was closed for about 90 minutes during the investigation and fully reopened roughly 40 minutes after one lane reopened.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said a 2016 Ford Fusion failed to yield at the Sodus intersection and struck a 2016 Subaru Forester; the injured Subaru passengers were ages 8 and 6.
In Gem Village, a white Toyota 4Runner traveling east veered into the westbound lane and sideswiped a westbound Jeep SUV. Both vehicles left the highway, and traffic was directed through an alternating single lane while crews cleared the scene.
In Chambersburg, firefighters found everyone outside the vehicles, cleared debris and fluids from the roadway, and provided traffic control; an ambulance crew handled a refusal of medical treatment.
New York State Police identified the Saugerties driver who swerved to avoid the deer as 84-year-old Robert Sinsapaugh. Police said no tickets were issued.
