Bally's CFO resigns immediately as the company faces liquidity issues and construction delays.
Bally's CFO Mira Mircheva has resigned effective immediately due to personal reasons. The departure comes as Bally's is also dealing with liquidity issues, a dispute with Chicago over video gambling terminals, and a dispute over contractors at its $1.7 billion casino construction site. George Papanier, president of land-based casinos and a longtime Bally’s executive, will take on the additional role of interim CFO while the board searches for a permanent successor. Mircheeva joined Bally't in the February 2025 merger with Queen Casino & Entertainment, which operated four casinos in three states. Her departure comes at a difficult time for the company, which is also facing a dispute between MGM Excavating, a former contractor seeking $3.8 million owed for work at the casino complex construction site, and pending a hearing before the City Council regarding its financial position, the VGT dispute and the capacity to build Chicago's first casino.
