Laura Whitmore and Iain Stirling Announce Unexpected Early Arrival of Second Child

Television personality Laura Whitmore and comedian husband Iain Stirling have announced the birth of their second child. In an Instagram post, Whitmore shared a close-up photo of their newborn’s tiny hand resting on her chest and said the baby arrived unexpectedly early, about a month before her original timeline. She joked that she had prepared a five-hour “birthing playlist,” only managing a few songs, and described the early days as full of baby smells, sleepless nights, and “scrumptious” hands and wrists. The couple, who already have a daughter, Stevie Ré, revealed earlier this year that they were expecting and had kept the pregnancy largely private. They have not yet publicly shared the baby’s gender or name, and friends and followers quickly sent congratulations.
Iain Stirling also marked the arrival with a social post featuring a knitted jumper/cardigan that read “Littlest Living Legend,” writing: “Say hello to our newest living legend,” and adding he always wanted someone “in the house who would stay up late and watch the World Cup with me.”
Several celebrities publicly congratulated the couple in the comments—Emily Atack shared hearts first, followed by Amanda Abbington, who wrote: “So many, many, many congratulations dear Laura!! Hope you are both doing beautifully.”
Before the birth announcement, Whitmore described her pregnancy in an “Instagram V Reality” post, teasing: “Spoiler: It wasn’t just a big meal mama ate. She’s been cooking away!” and thanking “stretchy pants and travel sick bags.”
In May, Whitmore celebrated her birthday and baby shower with a party at BAM Karaoke Box UK in London—featuring “karaoke, rude games and a drag artist,” including a game described as “labour or porn,” and she captioned it “BIRTH day with gladly no other surprise births!”
