Cowboys Trade Strategy Shift

Cowboys Expected to Play Newly Acquired Joey Porter Jr. Against Texans

The trade for cornerback Joey Porter Jr. shows that the Dallas Cowboys are beginning to prioritize immediate impact over draft picks. This follows a trend from the Los Angeles Rams, who traded franchise quarterback Jared Goff to the Detroit Lions for Matthew Stafford five years ago. Jones, the team's owner, recently stated that he was open to making a significant move that included significant draft capital to improve the roster. This move is seen as a sign that Jones is more willing to make significant moves immediately than in previous years. The team currently has only four picks left in next year's NFL Draft.
