Megadeth Announces Final UK and European Tour, Celebrating Four Decades of Metal History

UK Live Nation pre-sale opens on August 6 at 9:00 a.m., with general on-sale starting August 7 at 10:00 a.m., as part of Megadeth's Breakout: Hibernation Of The Nations rollout.
Glasgow’s OVO Hydro venue is on the schedule, with Glasgow tickets going live August 7 at 10:00 a.m.; OVO Live pre-sale begins August 5 and SEC pre-sale on August 6.
Megadeth will play UK headline shows for the first time in 11 years (since 2015) as part of the European farewell leg.
Frontman Dave Mustaine revealed radial neuropathy, or wrist drop, a condition that has affected his ability to play guitar and influenced the band’s approach to the farewell campaign.
The farewell project is expected to include a documentary titled Behind the Mask as part of Megadeth’s wider final-year efforts.
Megadeth has announced their final-ever UK and European tour, a 24-date arena run called Breakout: Hibernation Of The Nations, kicking off in Belfast on March 9, 2027 and wrapping in Lisbon on April 13, according to Metal Injection and Consequence. Black Label Society and Testament will join as support acts throughout the run.
The tour marks Megadeth's first UK headline shows in 11 years — their last was in 2015. Frontman Dave Mustaine framed the run as a celebration of four decades of fan support rather than a simple goodbye, according to The Rock Revival.
The tour opens at The O2 in Belfast on March 9, 2027, The Rock Revival confirmed. From there, the band sweeps across the UK and mainland Europe before closing in Lisbon on April 13. That is 24 arena shows in just over five weeks — one of the biggest metal touring commitments in recent memory.
Glasgow's OVO Hydro is among the confirmed UK venues, according to ThePreRP. Fans in Glasgow can access an OVO Live pre-sale starting August 5, an SEC pre-sale on August 6, and a Live Nation pre-sale also on August 6 at 9:00 a.m. General on-sale begins August 7 at 10:00 a.m. across most UK markets.
The farewell tour is not just a business decision. Dave Mustaine has revealed he has radial neuropathy, also called wrist drop. The condition affects the nerves that control hand and wrist movement, directly hitting his ability to play guitar at full capacity.
That health battle has shaped how Megadeth is approaching this final chapter. The band released a self-titled studio album — described as their last — earlier this year, according to Consequence. A documentary titled Behind the Mask is also expected as part of the wider farewell project.
Both support acts carry serious weight. Black Label Society is led by guitarist Zakk Wylde, best known as Ozzy Osbourne's longtime axeman. Testament are Bay Area thrash veterans and long-time peers of Megadeth on the metal circuit. Metal Injection called the lineup a celebration of metal rather than a farewell.
ThePreRP noted that both Testament and Black Label Society are confirmed across the full European and UK leg. For fans, the triple bill makes this a rare chance to see three major acts share one stage — possibly for the last time in this format.
UK fans should mark their calendars carefully. The Live Nation pre-sale opens August 6 at 9:00 a.m. General on-sale follows on August 7 at 10:00 a.m., according to Consequence. Glasgow buyers have an extra option: the OVO Live pre-sale starts a day earlier on August 5.
El-Balad confirmed the Belfast date at The O2 is locked in for March 9, 2027. Given that these are billed as Megadeth's last-ever European shows, demand is expected to be high. Fans are advised to use the pre-sale windows to avoid missing out.
