Spider-Man Dominates Box Office for Sixth Consecutive Week to Conclude Historic Summer

'Spider-Man: Brand New Day" became the second film this decade to top the box office for six consecutive weeks, making it the longest stretch since 2022's "Avatar: The Way of Water". The film, starring Tom Holland, generated $18 million over the weekend. Universal Pictures' "The Odyssey" remained in second place with a global haul of $1.63 billion, largely due to overseas sales. Both films helped Hollywood achieve its best summer since before the pandemic, contributing to a total of $4.6 billion for the season, an increase of 26.1% from 2025 and just shy of 2013's record summer. Meanwhile, "Coyote vs. Acme" grossed $11.3 million in its second weekend, bringing its total to $5.7 million.
