Euro Manganese Project Advances; US Ambassador Highlights Strategic Role in Battery Supply

Euro Manganese Inc. is advancing what it calls Europe and North America's only vertically integrated source of high-purity manganese products, with a high-profile site visit and a bullish demand forecast adding momentum to its Czech Republic project, according to Cochrane Times Post.
The U.S. Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Nicholas Merrick, visited the company's Chvaletice Manganese Project and Demonstration Plant on July 23, 2026. The visit signals growing U.S. interest in securing manganese supply for battery and defence industries, Fort McMurray Today reported.
Ambassador Merrick's visit to the Chvaletice site was not ceremonial. The project is positioned as a key supply source for U.S. and European customers in the battery, technology, and defence sectors. High-purity manganese is a critical input for electric vehicle batteries and energy storage systems, Sault Star reported.
Euro Manganese is listed on three stock exchanges — the TSX Venture Exchange, the Australian Securities Exchange, and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. The Chvaletice project sits on an old manganese tailings deposit in the Czech Republic, meaning it recycles existing waste rather than digging a new mine.
The International Energy Agency's Global Critical Minerals Outlook 2026 gave the project a timely endorsement. The IEA expects demand for battery-grade manganese products to double by 2040, according to Cold Lake Sun. That forecast puts high-purity manganese alongside lithium and cobalt as minerals central to the clean energy transition.
Europe has long relied on manganese imports from China, South Africa, and Gabon. A domestic European source of high-purity manganese would reduce that dependence. Euro Manganese's Chvaletice project is designed to fill that gap, Woodstock Sentinel Review noted.
James Connolly has joined Euro Manganese's Board of Directors, according to Hanna Herald. His appointment follows the completion of regulatory identification requirements. The company did not detail his background in the update, but board additions at this stage typically signal preparation for a major financing or project milestone.
Euro Manganese has received an extension from the British Columbia Registrar to hold its annual general meeting no later than November 15, according to Clinton News Record. The extension gives the company additional time to organize shareholder proceedings, which may include votes on financing or project approvals tied to Chvaletice's next development phase.
The company has not yet set a firm AGM date within that window. Shareholders will be watching for updates on project financing, permitting progress, and any offtake agreements with battery manufacturers, Fairview Post reported.
