Tarik Skubal to start Game 1 for Dodgers as World Series begins

The Los Angeles Dodgers are set to begin their third consecutive World Series title with the start of two-time Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal. The decision was made due to the luxury of having one of the greatest rotations in modern history. Skubals was chosen over reigning World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto, fellow two-times Cy Young winners Blake Snell, and All-Star right-hander Tyler Glasnow. The Dodgers acquired Skubale from the Detroit Tigers at the trade deadline, a move that looked prudent due to injuries to another starter. Despite initially being expected to start Game 1 against the Atlanta Braves, Skuban is considered the most experienced arm at going on four days of rest.
