Dinesh Thakkar said he chose Juhu because of its privacy, spaciousness and exceptional sea views, describing the planned residence as a luxurious, iconic sanctuary for his family.

Angel One founder Dinesh Thakkar has agreed to buy an entire seven-storey residential tower at Embassy Developments' Embassy Terazza project in Mumbai's Juhu neighborhood for approximately ₹711 crore, Hindustan Times reported. The deal is being called India's largest single residential property transaction and marks a major win for Embassy Developments just 18 months after entering Mumbai's competitive luxury market.
The tower spans about 63,000 square feet of RERA carpet area across the ultra-luxury development, which sits on more than two acres along Juhu Tara Road. CNBC-TV18 reported that Thakkar will use the residence as a personal family sanctuary. The broader Embassy Terazza project, valued at over ₹3,000 crore in gross development value, is scheduled for completion by December 2031.
Thakkar selected the Juhu location for its privacy, spaciousness and exceptional sea views, India Today reported. The founder described the planned residence as a luxurious, iconic sanctuary designed specifically for his family's lifestyle. Juhu remains one of Mumbai's most coveted ultra-luxury addresses, attracting high-net-worth individuals seeking exclusivity.
The choice reflects broader market trends in Mumbai's luxury segment, where waterfront properties with privacy command premium valuations. Free Press Journal noted the transaction underscores strong buyer appetite in the city's ultra-premium residential category, even as developers like DLF and Oberoi Realty maintain entrenched positions in similar neighborhoods.
Embassy Developments' shares jumped on the announcement, reaching an intraday high of ₹63.80 on the NSE during Tuesday trading. The stock climbed as much as 8% during the session, reflecting investor confidence in the company's Mumbai strategy. The purchase represents validation of Embassy's ultra-luxury positioning in a crowded market.
Beyond Embassy Terazza in Juhu, the Bangalore-based developer operates multiple projects across the Mumbai region. CNBC-TV18 reported the company has projects including Embassy Citadel in Worli, Embassy Serenity in Alibaug, Embassy Park in Panvel and Embassy One in Thane. Embassy operates across mid-income, premium and luxury segments, reducing reliance on any single market category.
The Embassy Terazza transaction signals the developer's serious commitment to Mumbai's ultra-luxury tier after entering the market in 2023. Completing this major sale so quickly positions Embassy to accelerate construction and marketing of remaining towers. The five-tower development represents Embassy's flagship Mumbai project and its largest single investment in any Indian metro.
