US Envoys Witkoff and Kushner Arrive in Kyiv for First Wartime Visit

US envoy Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner have arrived in Kyiv, marking their first visit to the Ukrainian capital since the war began. They had concluded intensive talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, following a 72-hour temporary truce between the two countries' capitals, Kyiv and Moscow. The visit comes amid ongoing Russian missile and drone strikes on the Ukrainian city. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has previously stated that an acute shortage of air defense interceptors has left Ukraine vulnerable to ballistic missile attacks.
