Illinois Woman Receives Two Years Probation For Manslaughter Following Self-Defense Stabbing

Keshia Golden, a 37-year-old Illinois woman, has been sentenced to two years probation after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter for the death of her boyfriend, Calvin Sidney, who she claims was in self-defense. Golden was 8 months pregnant when Sidney was fatally stabbed after her baby shower. Her lawyers claim Sidney had physically assaulted Golden during an argument and she stabbed him once in the leg to escape. Golden initially faced first-degree murder charges but accepted a reduced charge of involuntary manslaughter with 24 months probation. Her sentence includes community service and community service.
