Grayscale Files for Zcash Options ETF Amid Rising Institutional Demand and Inflows

Zcash’s price weakened, trading near $1,540 after a recent decline, as futures open interest fell and bullish traders faced more liquidations than short sellers. Institutional demand remained strong: Grayscale’s Zcash fund drew $35.17 million in weekly inflows, marking a fifth straight week of positive flows, and the firm plans a 3-for-1 share split. Separately, Grayscale has filed for a Zcash options-based ETF designed to pay income every two weeks without directly holding Zcash tokens. Market commentators have also compared Zcash’s rapid rise with Bitcoin’s 2016 trajectory, while forecasts for its longer-term price remain uncertain.
Grayscale’s proposed ZCSH High Income ETF was reported to be nearing $1 billion in assets, in addition to its plan to generate biweekly income through options.
Laura Shin cited Zcash’s climb from $1,000 to $1,500 and recurring conference participants as parallels with early Bitcoin, and pointed to privacy as a particularly valuable use case.
A Zcash co-founder was associated with a forecast that ZEC could reach $5,000 by the end of 2026, offering a more specific bullish target amid uncertain longer-term outlooks.
