Rockstar Games Announces 34-Track GTA 6 Album Ahead of November Launch

Rockstar’s album announcement says every edition contains the same 34 tracks; the differences are limited to format and bonus packaging. At the time of reporting, only two tracks had been officially identified, leaving 28 songs undisclosed.
The soundtrack was reportedly tied to Atlantic Records, and the physical release was first revealed through a leak by Dealabs user billbil-kun before Rockstar’s official announcement.
Spotify promoted the soundtrack ahead of its announcement with online activity and billboards in New York, Los Angeles and Miami, prompting speculation that it might be the album’s exclusive streaming home.
The soundtrack’s physical availability contrasts with the game’s digital-only release, a distinction that has prompted complaints from fans who want a boxed copy of GTA VI.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has suggested that a future GTA multiplayer title would not necessarily make the existing GTA Online redundant, citing NBA 2K Online and NBA 2K Online 2 as examples of related online games being maintained simultaneously.
Rockstar Games announced Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, a 34-track collection of original music set to launch November 19 alongside the game itself. HipHopWired reported that the album features artists including Travis Scott, Keith Richards, Morgan Wallen, Yung Lean, and Rauw Alejandro, with six singles now available to stream. Physical editions range from a $20 double CD to a $125 limited-edition set with transparent magenta vinyl filled with blue liquid.
The soundtrack release highlights a striking contrast: while GTA VI arrives as digital-only on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, the album receives full physical distribution across retailers. Fandom Wire noted that 28 of the 34 tracks remain undisclosed, building anticipation ahead of the November 19 release date. Shacknews reported the collaboration was handled through Atlantic Records.
Rockstar wasted no time revealing the album's opening salvo. Six songs are available now across streaming platforms, introducing listeners to the sonic palette of Vice City and Leonida. HipHopWired identified Travis Scott's "RHYNO," produced by Daft Punk's Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, as one featured track. Scott posted on social media: "NOW ITS TIME MY RETURN TO GAME GOTTA COME WITH RAGE AND ALOT OF DANCING LETS RIDE."
The remaining 28 tracks stay locked until launch day. This strategy builds hype by letting fans discover new artists and collaborations gradually. Each physical edition — CD, standard vinyl, or limited magenta vinyl — contains all 34 original songs, eliminating format-based exclusivity complaints that plagued previous releases.
A contradiction has drawn criticism from the gaming community. GTA VI launches as a digital-only release on consoles, yet Rockstar offers the soundtrack in three physical formats: CD ($20), standard vinyl ($50), and the collector's liquid-filled magenta edition ($125). Fans argue this undermines arguments for going all-digital and creates an unfair situation for those who prefer owning physical media.
The $99.99 Digital Ultimate Edition of GTA VI has also drawn complaints for offering fewer bonuses than Red Dead Redemption 2's $99.99 edition at launch. Physical media advocates view the discrepancy as evidence that Rockstar prioritizes streaming revenue over collector satisfaction. Leaked images of black Vice City-branded boxes have fueled speculation about a possible unreleased Collector's Edition for the game itself.
TechPowerUp revealed that Spotify launched a coordinated nationwide campaign months before the official announcement. Billboards appeared across New York, Los Angeles, and Miami, hinting at a major music project tied to GTA VI. The campaign suggests Spotify may be the album's exclusive or primary streaming partner, though no official exclusivity deal has been confirmed yet.
Atlantic Records partnered with Rockstar on the project, handling artist selection and production oversight. The September 17 announcement followed a leak by Dealabs insider billbil-kun hours earlier, detailing physical SKUs and pricing before Rockstar's official reveal. This coordinated push positions the album as a cultural event, not just a video game soundtrack.
Dan Clancy, Twitch's CEO, told industry analysts that GTA VI will dominate streaming engagement on November 19. He expects concurrent viewer counts to shatter previous records for single-player games. Clancy added that the excitement will intensify dramatically when Rockstar announces and launches the multiplayer component, potentially arriving in 2027.
Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick suggested future GTA multiplayer offerings would coexist with current GTA Online rather than replacing it. He cited NBA 2K Online and NBA 2K Online 2 as examples of how multiple related online titles function simultaneously. This approach protects existing player investments while expanding the live-service ecosystem.
