Raiders tight end Brock Bowers returns from knee injury against Saints

Raiders tight end Brock Bowers returned in Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints after missing the first two games following a meniscus trim on his left knee. He had been listed as questionable after limited practices and a planned Friday absence. In his return, Las Vegas used the 6-foot-4 playmaker at outside wide receiver and in the backfield, as coach Klint Kubiak deployed him in different roles. Michael Mayer filled in at tight end during Bowers’ absence as the Raiders opened the season 2-0.
Bowers had also dealt with a significant left-knee injury in 2025: a posterior cruciate ligament injury and bone bruise that caused him to miss three games after initially playing through it.
Through his first two NFL seasons, Bowers had recorded 176 receptions for 1,874 yards and 12 touchdowns.
The Raiders signed Michael Mayer to a three-year, $45 million extension before the season, signaling that they value him alongside Bowers.
