Former Sarpy County Trafficking Motel Destroyed During Live Fire Training Exercise

A live fire training exercise was conducted at a former Super 8 Motel in Sarpy County, which was the site of an FBI sex trafficking raid. The training burn took place at the former hotel, which closed permanently in 2025 following the raid, which resulted in the arrests of five people who owned, operated and managed five hotels. The suspects are accused of crimes including sex and labor trafficking, fraudulent use of visas, money laundering, and concealment of undocumented immigrants. The live fire exercise was led by Gretna Fire and Rescue, several neighboring agencies including the Papillion Fire Department, Bellevue Fire IAFF Local 4906, the City of Gretna, SarpY County and the Sarpo County Sheriff's Office.
