The Earthshot Prize has announced 15 finalists for its 2026 awards, recognizing environmental initiatives spanning ocean conservation, climate action, habitat protection, waste reduction and clean air. Among them is the Niue Ocean Wide Trust, which sells ocean-conservation commitments to build a $32 million endowment for permanent protection of the Pacific Ocean. Other finalists include Yellowstone to Yukon, which reconnects wildlife habitats across the United States and Canada; Argentina’s AI-powered Satellites on Fire; the Zero Emission Maritime Buyers Alliance; and Danish offshore-wind developer Ørsted. The finalists reflect a range of Indigenous, community-led, nonprofit, corporate and technology-based approaches to environmental challenges. Five winners will each receive £1 million along with support to expand their work, with the awards ceremony scheduled for Nov. 17 in Mumbai.
