Flyadeal and Air India Express Launch New Direct Flights Connecting India to Riyadh and Bahrain

Flyadeal’s Mumbai–Riyadh flights operate five days a week, excluding Mondays and Fridays.
The flyadeal schedule is timed to arrive in Riyadh at 10:15 a.m. and in Mumbai at 7:40 a.m. on the return service.
Flyadeal’s A320neo aircraft on the route are configured with 186 all-economy seats.
Flyadeal acting CEO Sanjiv Kapoor described India as a strategic priority, noting that Saudi Arabia is among India’s three largest international travel markets and that travel and tourism flows between the countries are growing.
Saudi low-cost carrier flyadeal launched five-times-weekly nonstop flights between Mumbai and Riyadh on NDTV, marking its second Indian destination after Hyderabad. The service adds more than 7,400 monthly seats and uses Airbus A320neo aircraft configured with 186 economy seats. In related developments, Times of India reported that Air India Express will launch three weekly flights from Thiruvananthapuram to Riyadh starting October 27, 2026, plus twice-weekly service to Bahrain. The expansion reflects growing travel flows between India and the Gulf, with Thiruvananthapuram already handling more than 250 weekly flight movements.
Flyadeal operates the Mumbai-Riyadh service five days weekly, skipping Mondays and Fridays. According to News18, flights depart Mumbai in the afternoon and arrive in Riyadh at 10:15 a.m., with return service leaving at 7:40 a.m. Mumbai time. The route enables connections to Saudi cities including Jeddah, Dammam, Abha, and Madinah through through-booking and checked baggage arrangements.
Money Rediff noted that flyadeal's expansion aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 initiatives promoting tourism and connectivity. India and Saudi Arabia maintain strong travel flows, with the kingdom ranking as one of India's top three international travel destinations. Growing middle-class travel demand and business connections between the countries are driving airline capacity additions.
Air India Express will launch direct service from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala's main airport, to Riyadh three times weekly starting October 27, 2026. Times of India reported the new Riyadh flights will complement Air India Express's existing daily Dammam service and serve expatriates from southern Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Twice-weekly Bahrain flights will complement Gulf Air's daily service on the route.
The Hindu reported that flyadeal plans major expansion across India, targeting Lucknow, Delhi, Chennai, and Kolkata as future destinations. The carrier views the Indian market as critical for growth as air travel and tourism between India and Saudi Arabia accelerate. This strategy positions flyadeal as a competitor to established carriers on Gulf routes while leveraging its low-cost model.
