Singer Raye dismisses dating rumors about Michael B. Jordan while teasing an undisclosed project.

At the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, Raye dismissed speculation that she is dating Michael B. Jordan, describing them as “just friends who like roller coasters” after they were seen together at a Los Angeles amusement park in August. She confirmed they are working on an undisclosed project but said she could not share details. Raye also performed in a tribute to George Michael, whose music she grew up hearing through her father, and said she would love to collaborate with Madonna.
Raye performed a gospel-influenced version of “I Knew You Were Waiting for Me,” the duet originally recorded by George Michael and Aretha Franklin.
Raye said she had hoped to sing George Michael’s “Last Christmas” in the tribute, but it was not the right time of year for the song at the September ceremony.
Raye said “WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!” had passed 10 billion Spotify downloads and was the first single from her upcoming sophomore album; she also acknowledged feeling pressure around the follow-up album.
