Global Communities Host Diverse Weekend Festivals, Fairs, Concerts and Cultural Activities

The Aberfoyle Fall Fair has been running for more than 180 years and this year’s theme is “It’s Harvest Time,” emphasizing agriculture, food education and community connections. The fair will also include more than 30 local marketplace vendors, rock climbing, axe throwing, a Quilt of Valour display and exhibits from the Puslinch Historical Society.
The Hamilton Hispanic Festival will mark the start of Hispanic Heritage Month with live performances, dance lessons, food and art vendors, and a parade. Trenton’s free outdoor screening of “Wicked: For Good” will be preceded by meet-and-greets with Elphaba and Glinda, a bubble truck and potion-making activities.
SOURCE’s Cork lineup includes local band Engine Room, singer-songwriter John Blek, Cathal Fitz, pianist Saoirse Casey and Síomha, whose music combines folk, jazz and neo-soul. The festival will also feature food from the on-site Drunken Sailor truck, including loaded fries, gourmet burgers and wood-fired pizzas.
Macclesfield’s new beginner ballroom and Latin dance class at Bollington Civic Hall is open to people with no prior experience, with tickets priced at £2 for adults and £1 for children.
At its fifth-anniversary event, Macclesfield Repair Cafe will accept items including clothing, textiles, electrical and electronic goods, woodwork, mechanical items and toys for assessment or repair, while visitors can meet emergency-services and rescue personnel and view their vehicles and equipment.
