Binance Launches Physically Settled U.S. Stock Options for Non-U.S. Users

Nest Trading Limited is the Abu Dhabi Global Market-regulated introducing broker for Binance's stock options offering, routing orders to U.S.-registered Alpaca Securities for execution, clearing and custody; shares are held by Alpaca in custody after exercise.
The program covers more than 1,000 U.S.-listed stocks and ETFs and is available to eligible users outside the United States; the service will not be available to U.S. users.
Premiums are funded from Binance's Funding Account, with supported currencies including USDC, USDT, USD1, and BNB; trading follows U.S. options market hours (9:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. ET with ETF/ETN contracts sometimes until 4:15 p.m. ET) and most names have no pre-market or after-hours book.
Exercising a call can deliver actual shares and create a long equity position within the same Binance account; shares are held in Alpaca custody after exercise, and users can monitor resulting positions via the stock trading interface.
Binance's move is part of a broader industry trend toward traditional-finance-linked derivatives, with TradFi perpetual futures volumes surging (e.g., about $433.4 billion in August) and peers like Bybit planning 24/7 stock-option-on-perpetuals launches.
Binance is pushing deeper into traditional finance by launching physically settled stock and ETF options covering more than 1,000 U.S.-listed securities. FXNewsGroup reports the new product is available to eligible users outside the United States through Nest Trading Limited, Binance's Abu Dhabi-regulated broker-dealer. Unlike cash-settled options, these contracts deliver actual shares upon exercise, fundamentally changing the risk profile from betting on price moves to owning equity.
The expansion marks another step in Binance's pivot toward traditional finance products. FinanceFeeds notes the move follows earlier launches of tokenized securities and equity-linked perpetual futures. Alpaca Securities, a U.S.-registered firm, handles execution, clearing, and custody of the shares. Premiums are paid from Binance's Funding Account using stablecoins like USDC and USDT, alongside BNB token.
Traditional stock options settle in cash — you profit or lose dollars based on price moves. These Binance options settle by delivering real shares. CryptoEconomy explains that exercising a call option creates an actual long equity position within the same Binance account. The shares then sit in Alpaca's custody. This shift means losses extend beyond the premium paid — exercise leaves you holding equity with full market risk.
Phase one keeps it simple: only buying calls and puts, no writing options or shorting. Trades follow U.S. market hours from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET, with some ETF contracts extending to 4:15 p.m. All premiums come from your Funding Account balance, pooled with spot and other derivative trades.
Crypto exchanges are racing to capture retail traders hungry for traditional assets. TipRanks reports Binance's move is part of a broader industry shift toward TradFi-linked derivatives. In August alone, perpetual futures on traditional stocks generated roughly $433.4 billion in volume. Competitors like Bybit are planning 24/7 stock-option-on-perpetuals launches to stay competitive.
This product stacks on top of Binance's existing equity-linked tools, creating a full traditional finance suite. BigGoFinance highlights the inclusion of over 1,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs, giving users access to major names across sectors. The regulatory structure — using Abu Dhabi's Nest Trading as the introducing broker — allows Binance to skirt U.S. restrictions while serving international customers.
Binance explicitly bars U.S. users from this product. The exchange has faced years of regulatory pressure in America and cannot offer options through standard U.S. brokerage channels. By routing through Abu Dhabi and Alpaca, Binance avoids direct oversight while serving the global market. This geographic split — crypto access in the U.S., TradFi options outside it — reflects the fractured regulatory landscape crypto exchanges now navigate.
