French Semiconductor Company Sequans Sells Final Bitcoin to Refocus on Cellular IoT

Sequans Communications has sold its remaining 314 Bitcoin, completing its exit from a treasury strategy launched in 2025. After redeeming its convertible debt in May 2026, the French semiconductor company says it has no cryptocurrency holdings and no debt beyond obligations tied to government-financed research and development. Sequans plans to refocus on its cellular IoT and software-defined radio businesses; it reported second-quarter product revenue growth of more than 80% year over year and a six-month product backlog three times higher than a year earlier. The company is continuing work on its 5G eRedCap platform and pursuing radio-frequency transceiver opportunities in defense, drone and space markets.
Sequans launched its Bitcoin treasury strategy in June 2025 as part of a $384 million equity and convertible secured-debenture financing; at its peak, the company held more than 3,200 BTC.
The company began reducing its Bitcoin position less than six months after launching the strategy, selling 970 BTC in November 2025 to redeem half of its convertible debt.
Sequans secured its first drone design win in the second quarter for its new radio-frequency transceiver. The selection does not, by itself, establish when the application will generate revenue or how much revenue it may bring in.
