NEAR Intents recovers all stolen funds after securing the return of $3.8 million.

NEAR Intents said its main services and Near.com were expected to resume within about an hour of the breach disclosure, while deposits and withdrawals on networks including BSC, Polygon and Optimism were expected to remain unavailable for roughly 12 hours.
Before the funds were returned, NEAR Intents said it was working with law enforcement and blockchain analytics firms to trace them, and planned to publish a post-mortem report in the coming days.
The exploit was reported to involve irregular outflows from NEAR Intents’ BNB Smart Chain hot wallet. One account noted that the protocol normally handles more than $100 million in daily cross-chain volume.
Weeks earlier, NEAR Intents’ SHIELD risk-intelligence system had detected and blocked more than $50 million in attempted illicit cross-chain flows tied to the Bitget breach; the article said about $503,000 was frozen and roughly $166,000 passed through.
NEAR Intents recovered the full $3.8 million stolen in a cross-chain security exploit, after giving the attacker a 48-hour ultimatum to return the funds Decrypt. The breach stemmed from a flaw in how Omni's deposit and withdrawal systems interacted with NEAR Intents' smart contracts, forcing temporary halts to deposits and withdrawals across 11 blockchain networks including Polygon, Optimism, and BSC LCX.
NEAR co-founder Illia Polosukhin pledged full compensation for affected users and said the team would review the incident and strengthen safeguards Finance Feeds. The core NEAR Protocol and other NEAR-based applications were unaffected by the breach NFT Evening.
The attack exploited a vulnerability in how Omni's infrastructure communicated with NEAR Intents' smart contracts Decrypt. Irregular outflows from NEAR Intents' BNB Smart Chain hot wallet exposed the flaw. The protocol normally processes over $100 million in daily cross-chain volume, making it a high-value target LCX.
Blockchain investigator ZachXBT tracked the stolen assets as they moved through crypto exchange KuCoin and were then bridged to Bitcoin Decrypt. NEAR Intents worked with law enforcement and blockchain analytics firms to trace the funds before their recovery Finance Feeds.
NEAR Intents patched the vulnerability and expected main services and Near.com to resume within about one hour of disclosure LCX. However, deposits and withdrawals on networks including BSC, Polygon, and Optimism were expected to remain unavailable for roughly 12 hours Hoka News.
