Defense Seeks Acquittal for Lindsay Clancy Citing Postpartum Psychosis

Lindsay Clancy, charged with murdering her three children, appeared in a Massachusetts court as her defense challenged the accusations against her in a hearing. Her attorney, Kevin Reddington, argued that the prosecution had failed to provide sufficient evidence to prove that she murdered her children and should not be held criminally responsible due to postpartum psychosis. During the hearing, Reddington urged Judge William Sullivan to acquit Clancy based on new interpretations of the available evidence, emphasizing her mental state at the time she was found and subsequent amnesia. If convicted of murder, Clancy could face a life sentence. If acquitted, she might be confined to a mental health institution for her condition.
