Bayonetta Announced for Sonic Racing Year Two

The Godzilla Pack will add the Godzilla Escape course, Godzilla Cruiser, King Ghidorah Coupe and Mothra Surf machines.
The Evangelion Pack will include the Tokyo-III course; EVA-01, EVA-00 and EVA-02 machines; and Rei Ayanami and Asuka Shikinami Langley as playable characters.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds supports cross-platform online matchmaking for up to 12 racers, while local split-screen multiplayer supports up to four players.
The game is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Beyond the Year Two announcements, the Season Pass roadmap lists Minecraft, SpongeBob, PAC-MAN, Mega Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Avatar Legends as crossover DLC waves; free updates also include Hatsune Miku, Joker and Ichiban Kasuga.
SEGA announced that Bayonetta will join Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds as the first free character update of Year Two, though no release date was given. Netto's Game Room confirmed the Umbra Witch will bring her signature Butterfly Witch machine along with custom emotes and sounds to the party racer.
The announcement came with new gameplay footage of previously revealed paid DLC packs featuring Godzilla and Neon Genesis Evangelion. Gaming Trend reported that SEGA will reveal the full Year Two schedule during a livestream on October 9, which includes the World Championship Finals and Year Two Showcase.
The Godzilla Pack will add four themed vehicles to the racer. Players can drive the Godzilla Cruiser, King Ghidorah Coupe, and Mothra Surf across the new Godzilla Escape course. IXBT Games confirmed that these machines represent major monsters from the franchise.
The Evangelion Pack proves equally ambitious. It includes three EVA unit machines—EVA-01, EVA-00, and EVA-02—plus two playable characters: Rei Ayanami and Asuka Shikinami Langley. A new Tokyo-III course ties the pack together, immersing fans in the anime's iconic setting.
The Year Two roadmap extends beyond free updates. Kit Guru noted that SEGA plans six paid crossover waves including Minecraft, SpongeBob SquarePants, PAC-MAN, Mega Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Avatar Legends. This strategy mirrors Year One, which brought major third-party IPs to the racer.
Beyond paid content, SEGA will continue adding free characters from its own library. Year One saw 13 free guest characters including Hatsune Miku, Joker from Persona 5, and Ichiban Kasuga from Like a Dragon. Bayonetta follows this successful pattern of mixing owned IP with marquee third-party franchises.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds supports up to 12 racers in online multiplayer with full cross-platform matchmaking. Local split-screen play supports four players, making it accessible for couch gaming. Gaming Trend confirmed the game runs on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
