Authorities deploy over eleven thousand personnel for the Nagaon Lok Sabha bypoll.

Authorities completed preparations for the October 6 Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election, with nearly 1.9 million voters choosing among 15 candidates in polling scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Polling teams and election materials were dispatched across Nagaon and Morigaon districts, supported by transport and security arrangements. Officials designated 624 polling stations as sensitive or critical, with additional forces deployed and surveillance measures including webcasting and CCTV planned. Women personnel will manage 335 polling stations, and five stations will offer model-voting facilities.
The administration appointed 86 micro-observers and deployed 69 Flying Squad Teams and 69 Static Surveillance Teams to monitor the polling process and compliance with the Model Code of Conduct.
Postal voting at home had already been completed for eligible voters over 85 and for persons with disabilities identified in the electoral rolls.
The Nagaon seat became vacant after Congress MP Pradyut Bordoloi resigned.
The polling deployment included 9,228 polling and presiding officers and 2,307 security personnel.
