Muthoot FinCorp Secures BCCI Title Sponsorship Rights For Home Matches Through 2028

The sponsorship is reportedly being branded as “Blue Muthoot.”
Google Gemini, IDFC First Bank, Spinny and SBI Life were reportedly among the companies the BCCI approached during negotiations; SBI Life ultimately joined as an associate partner.
The previous title sponsor, IDFC First, paid Rs 4.2 crore per match under a three-year, Rs 235.2 crore agreement covering 56 matches.
The associate-partner sponsorships with Campa, SBI Life and ChatGPT were reported to have a combined value exceeding Rs 130 crore, 44% higher than in the previous cycle.
India’s home schedule in the new commercial cycle is also expected to include tours by Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
Muthoot FinCorp has won the BCCI's title sponsorship for India's home cricket matches through March 31, 2028, in a deal reportedly valued at up to Rs 150 crore. The Kerala-based non-banking finance company will sponsor approximately 35 international matches—10 Tests, 12 ODIs and 13 T20Is—starting with India's three-match ODI series against the West Indies on September 27, AdGully reported.
The BCCI shifted to direct negotiations after its initial tender drew limited competitive interest. The deal is below the board's asking price and marks a decline from the previous title sponsor, IDFC First, which paid Rs 4.2 crore per match under a three-year agreement worth Rs 235.2 crore, Afaqs reported.
The partnership, branded as "Blue Muthoot", represents Muthoot FinCorp's entry into major cricket sponsorship. The company will gain significant visibility across India's home international matches, one of cricket's most-watched formats. SportsMint Media noted the deal reflects broader changes in BCCI's commercial strategy.
Muthoot joins associate sponsors Campa, SBI Life and ChatGPT in the BCCI's current commercial cycle. The company reportedly beat out other bidders including Google Gemini, IDFC First Bank and Spinny during the negotiation process, SportsMint Media reported.
Reports on the deal's final value differ. Some sources cite Rs 4.3 crore per match with a total of Rs 150 crore, while others state Rs 4.85 crore as the base price, suggesting the final amount may be lower. The variation highlights the complexity of BCCI's recent commercial negotiations, Economic Times reported.
The per-match rate represents a slight decrease from IDFC First's Rs 4.2 crore. However, BCCI's associate-partner sponsorships with Campa, SBI Life and ChatGPT reportedly exceeded Rs 130 crore combined—44% higher than the previous cycle—partially offsetting the title sponsor decline.
The BCCI's shift to direct negotiations signals challenges in its sponsorship market. The tender process failed to generate competitive bidding at the board's desired price point. Direct talks with individual companies proved more effective than open bidding, demonstrating changing market dynamics in cricket sponsorship.
India's home schedule during this commercial cycle includes matches against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe alongside bilateral series with other teams. The 35-match commitment through March 2028 provides Muthoot FinCorp consistent exposure across multiple match formats over the next 3.5 years.
