Eastern Washington secures historic first win over Northern Iowa despite major injuries.

Eastern Washington secured its first victory of the season against Northern Iowa, defeating the Panthers 34-24. The most notable loss was that of redshirt junior linebacker Samarai Anderson, a team captain who was playing his 30th career game. Anderson was helped to the injury tent and emerged from the second half using crutches. By the second-half, Eastern was down to five healthy receivers after Jaxon Branch and Drew Carlson suffered injuries. Redshirt junior LJ Roberts and junior Matt Eskridge II took over in Anderson's place, while Myles Mayovsky led the Eagles with 10 tackles. The Eagles have never beaten Northern Iowa in seven tries.
