Amazon Schedules Prime Big Deal Days for October to Capture Early Holiday Shoppers

Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days sale is set for Oct. 6-7, offering millions of deals exclusively to Prime members as shoppers begin holiday purchases ahead of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Amazon says more than 1 million products will be at their lowest prices of the year so far, with new deal drops planned three times daily across categories including technology, beauty, fashion, home and kitchen. Discounts will also target seasonal shopping, including fall apparel, Halloween and holiday décor. The event offers sellers an opportunity to reach early holiday shoppers, while increasing competition for customer attention, advertising and inventory. Shoppers without a membership may be eligible for a 30-day Prime free trial.
The 48-hour sale is scheduled to begin at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time on Oct. 6.
Amazon plans to roll out new deals at midnight, 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. PDT each day, with offers available while supplies last.
Specific seasonal offers include discounts of up to 45% on fall apparel and shoes, up to 35% on bedding, blankets and holiday décor, and up to 30% on game-day hosting and tailgating products; Halloween costumes and accessories start at $5.
Mashable says Prime normally costs $139 per year or $14.99 per month, and people whose membership has not been active for 12 months may qualify for a 30-day free trial.
