Maine Senate Candidate Troy Jackson Apologizes for Remarks on Jewish Residents and Gaza

Troy Jackson, the Democratic nominee in Maine's Senate race, has apologized for his remarks about Jewish residents' views of the Gaza war. Jackson, who is challenging Republican Sen. Susan Collins in one of the country's most competitive Senate contests, stated that he believes what's happening in Gaza is genocide and that he made a generalization about Jewish Mainers' views that didn't reflect what he meant to say. Jackson is a vocal critic of the Israeli government and has called for US military funding to be cut off. He also suggested that the United States should stop sending "blank checks" to the Israeli goverment.
