Sonny Gray Returns to the Bronx to Face His Former Team in Wild Card Series

Sonny Gray, a former Yankee pitcher, is set to play against the Boston Red Sox in Game 2 of the American League wild card series against New York on Sept. 30. Gray, who struggled with the Yankees in 2017 and 2018 after a trade from Oakland, is now an 18-game winner with a 2.72 ERA for the Red Sox. His comments about the Yankees were made in the wake of his trade from the St. Louis Cardinals to Boston, which put him on the opposite side of the rivalry. Gray believes his time in the Bronx made him a stronger person, a better man, and a better baseball player.
