Whistleblower Alleges FBI Investigated Anti-ICE Protesters After Trump Demanded Probe

Former FBI intelligence official, Jill Fields, alleges that the FBI opened preliminary investigations targeting anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement protesters in California in 2025 following demands from President Donald Trump and other administration officials. The investigations, which she believes violated the law and agency policy, were opened in the early weeks of the Trump administration's immigration crackdown. In one instance, the FBI began preliminary investigations after the president demanded an investigation of people he saw in a TikTok video depicting demonstrators against ICE and Customs and Border Protection in Alhambra, California. The allegations were made in a whistleblower complaint filed by lawyers representing Fields to members of the Senate Judiciary Committee. The Department of Justice, FBI and White House have been contacted by CNN about the disclosure.
