The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art prepares for its long-awaited September opening.

The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, founded by filmmaker George Lucas and his wife, Mellody Hobson, is set to open its doors to the public on Sept. 22. The museum, which includes over 30 galleries, two state-of-the-art cinematic theaters, a new park, cafe, restaurant, research library, and retail and special event spaces, is the first museum dedicated to the human tradition of visual storytelling. Museum CEO Tracey Bates stated that the Lucas Museum has become the home to narrative storytelling, which Lucas calls the "People's Art". The 300,000 sq. ft. museum in Exposition Park was designed by Ma Yansong of MAD Architects with Stantec and includes a new 13-acre campus garden.
