Broadcaster Fired Over Social Posts

Portland Trail Blazers Fire New Broadcaster Hours After Hiring Over Racist Posts

The Portland Trail Blazers have fired television broadcaster Braiden Bell for past racist, sexist social media posts. The posts were made when Bell was a teenager and were part of the team's initial policies and expectations. Bell, who was the television play-by-play announcer for the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury, was set to replace veteran broadcaster Kevin Calabro. The team expressed zero tolerance for racist, sexism or harmful comments and promised to do better.
