Sean Combs faces a January 2028 release following multiple federal prison sentence adjustments.

Sean “Diddy” Combs is now scheduled to be released from FCI Fort Dix on Jan. 21, 2028, after federal records showed his projected date moving forward several times while he serves a 50-month sentence. He was convicted of two counts of transporting people across state lines for prostitution and acquitted of racketeering and sex trafficking charges. Reports based on accounts and media reviewed photos and videos allege he has received special meals, cleaning help and massages in prison; his spokesperson characterized the scrutiny of his conditions as coverage of ordinary prison life and said Combs is awaiting a decision on his appeal.
Combs’s release date has been adjusted repeatedly: it was initially projected for May 8, 2028, later moved to February 20 and then February 5, before reaching January 21, 2028.
A month was reportedly added to Combs’s sentence after he was accused of making and drinking alcohol in prison, an allegation his representative denied; later adjustments included time credited under the FIRST STEP Act.
Combs’s spokesperson said the Bureau of Prisons’ calculations are unclear to his team: “We never know how or why the BOP calculates and posts these dates.”
A report said Combs was involved in a physical altercation with another inmate in July and was placed in solitary confinement afterward.
