South Korean President Lee Demands Apology From Ukraine Over Prisoner Dispute

South Korean President Lee Jae Myung has criticised Ukraine over its disclosure of handing North Korean prisoners of war to Seoul, demanding a public apology and threatening additional measures against the country. Lee accused Ukraine of unilaterally revealing that some captured North Korean soldiers had been sent to South Korea, despite having demanded confidentiality and later claiming there was no secrecy agreement. The Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha described the situation as a "diplomatic misunderstanding" and said that Seoul remains an important partner for Kyiv. The comments follow Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's announcement at the UNGA that two captured North Korea soldiers had gone to South Korean, leading to accusations of breaching a nondisclosure agreement about the transfer.
