Veteran Tamil actress Radha has filed a police complaint against her sister Ambika and brother Mallikarjun Kunjan Nair, alleging they misused signed blank cheques from her room to attempt fraudulent transactions totaling ₹46 crore to ₹50.8 crore IWM Buzz. Radha says the cheques belonged to her former business account, ARS Garden Studio, and were kept in her Valasaravakkam house for routine expenses while she traveled Hindustan Times.
How Five Blank Cheques Became ₹50 Crore Fraud
The complaint alleges that five cheques carrying amounts of ₹11 lakh, ₹13.17 crore, ₹27.73 crore, ₹7 crore and ₹1.79 crore were presented for encashment Filmfare. IDBI Bank alerted Radha on September 17 after the cheques were presented in Ambika's name, she says Indian Express. Radha immediately requested the bank block the transactions and filed her complaint with Greater Chennai Police on September 21 Great Andhra.
Business Account Switch Preceded the Alleged Misuse
Radha operated the cheques from her former business, ARS Garden Studio, which was renamed to R.R. Garden on January 7, 2025, according to her account Hindustan Times. The signed blank cheques she kept in her room belonged to the previous account and were no longer needed for business use.
