Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi releases new single Stormwatcher from upcoming solo album.

“From the Dark” is Iommi’s first solo album in 21 years.
Iommi described the album-making process positively, saying, “It’s an album we’ve really enjoyed making. We’re not trying to prove anything - it’s a great album, it rocks!”
“Stormwatcher” is a five-minute track, with doom-heavy riffs and ominous soundscapes that evoke Black Sabbath’s musical style.
Lande and Iommi have collaborated before: Lande sang with Iommi, Geezer Butler and Vinny Appice when Heaven & Hell paid tribute to Ronnie James Dio.
The album is being offered in several deluxe vinyl and CD formats.
Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi released "Stormwatcher," the second single from his solo album "From the Dark," due October 23, 2026, according to Rock Celebrities. The five-minute track features vocalist Jørn Lande and showcases Iommi's signature heavy riffs alongside ominous soundscapes that echo his legendary work with Black Sabbath.
"From the Dark" marks Iommi's first solo album in 21 years. The album was co-produced by Iommi and longtime collaborator Mike Exeter, with Becky Baldwin on bass and Karl Brazil on drums, XS Rock reported. Iommi said of the process: "It's an album we've really enjoyed making. We're not trying to prove anything — it's a great album, it rocks!"
"Stormwatcher" uses the image of a ship navigating a storm to represent life's struggles and human resilience. The song's animated video brings Lande's lyrics and nautical themes to life, according to Hello Rayo. The heavy, doom-laden riffs build an ominous atmosphere that draws listeners into the narrative of perseverance amid chaos.
Jørn Lande sings throughout "From the Dark" and co-wrote its songs alongside Iommi, The Rockpit noted. The two musicians have collaborated before. Lande sang with Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Vinny Appice during Heaven & Hell's tribute performances to late Black Sabbath vocalist Ronnie James Dio.
"Stormwatcher" follows "World Alone," which was released earlier as the album's opening single. Both tracks showcase the sonic direction Iommi and his collaborators pursued for this long-awaited solo project, Hello Rayo reported. The album will be offered in several deluxe vinyl and CD formats, making it available to both collectors and casual listeners.
