CeeDee Lamb sets career highs as the Dallas Cowboys defeat the Houston Texans

Lamb’s 2025 injuries included a left ankle sprain that caused him to miss three games and a Week 14 concussion that put him in concussion protocol. Despite those setbacks, he still surpassed 1,000 receiving yards that season.
Before the Houston game, Lamb needed 98 receiving yards to pass Cowboys Hall of Famer Drew Pearson for fourth place on the franchise’s all-time receiving-yards list. Lamb said the milestone “would be fire.”
In the Brazil loss to Baltimore, Lamb caught a 49-yard pass that helped spark a 96-yard Dallas touchdown drive in the fourth quarter and also caught a two-point conversion.
CeeDee Lamb set career highs with 17 catches for 189 yards and the game-winning touchdown with 40 seconds left as the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Houston Texans 34-30 on the road in Week 4. NBC Bay Area reported that Lamb's strong start to the 2026 season followed ankle and concussion injuries that limited him in 2025, but entering this year healthy has fueled his explosive play.
Dak Prescott threw for 335 yards and Javonte Williams scored three rushing touchdowns in the second half as Dallas improved to 2-2. The Texans fell to 0-4 despite C.J. Stroud's 347 passing yards and two touchdown catches from Nico Collins, who returned from injury.
Through the first three games of the season, Lamb had caught 20 passes on 25 targets for 309 yards and three touchdowns. His Week 4 performance in Houston shattered his previous career marks and marked the peak of what NBC Chicago called a historic breakout for the Cowboys receiver.
The 17-catch game brought Lamb within striking distance of a major franchise milestone. He needed just 98 receiving yards to pass Cowboys Hall of Famer Drew Pearson for fourth place on the franchise's all-time receiving-yards list—a milestone Lamb said would be "fire."
Lamb battled significant health issues last year that could have derailed his career trajectory. A left ankle sprain forced him to miss three games, and a Week 14 concussion sidelined him for concussion protocol, yet he still surpassed 1,000 receiving yards for the season.
Entering 2026 completely healthy has been the difference. NBC Philadelphia noted that Lamb's fresh start helped unlock the explosiveness fans expected, setting up one of the most dominant receiving performances in recent Cowboys history.
The previous week's 34-31 loss to Baltimore in Brazil stung, but Lamb put on a show even in defeat. He caught a 49-yard pass that sparked a 96-yard Dallas touchdown drive in the fourth quarter and also hauled in a two-point conversion in the losing effort.
That game proved Lamb could deliver in high-pressure moments. NBC Los Angeles reported his Week 4 performance against Houston validated the turnaround, with the game-winning touchdown catch proving Lamb thrives when the stakes are highest.
Houston's 0-4 start marks one of the season's biggest surprises. C.J. Stroud threw for 347 yards and found Nico Collins twice for touchdowns, giving the Texans plenty of offensive production but no wins to show for it.
NBC Boston reported that Collins' return from injury added another weapon to the Texans attack, yet the team still could not slow down Dallas' second-half surge. The loss extended Houston's skid as the season enters its second month.
