Ørsted CEO Rasmus Errboe Begins 18-Month Term as WindEurope Chair

Ørsted Group President and CEO Rasmus Errboe has begun an 18-month term as chair of WindEurope, working with CEO Tinne Van der Straeten to advance the European wind industry. Enel Green Power CEO Salvatore Bernabei was elected vice chair, while Alfredo Parres of Hitachi Energy will serve as vice chair of WindEurope’s Management Committee. Errboe said Europe must turn its renewable-energy ambitions into action by accelerating electrification, expanding power grids, strengthening supply chains and creating more predictable conditions for investment. Europe is projected to install a record 24 gigawatts of new wind capacity in 2026, enough to supply about 20 million households, but WindEurope warned that permitting delays, grid bottlenecks, weak auction design and uncertainty over long-term renewable-energy policy could undermine that progress. The sector already supports about 480,000 European jobs and supplies roughly one-fifth of the continent’s electricity, according to WindEurope.
