Major Technology Alliance Launches New Security Architecture to Protect Enterprise AI Agents

Okta’s Blueprint Alliance, with 12 founding technology companies and two strategic advisers, is developing an open architecture to help organizations discover, govern, monitor and respond to AI agents operating across different enterprise systems. Its approach emphasizes identifiable ownership, narrowly scoped access, runtime monitoring and incident actions such as revoking tokens or isolating agents, and extends to development tools and infrastructure. Separately, F5 promoted its AI Security Platform at events in Oman, describing tools for visibility, governance and protection across AI applications, models, agents and APIs amid concerns about unauthorized “shadow AI”; the company cited a report finding that 88% of organizations had faced at least one AI-related operational or security challenge. These efforts reflect broader calls for AI oversight: a Proofpoint analysis of a U.N. Security Council briefing argues that themes of governance, human control, visibility and accountability in international AI discussions also apply to businesses deploying autonomous systems.
F5 said its Oman events were aligned with the country’s National Programme for Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Digital Technologies. The events included F5 Academy Oman, focused on customer training, and a technology showcase with Otech for ODP customers and partners.
F5 described its security approach as a continuous loop of discovering, testing, governing and protecting AI workloads. It also highlighted an enhanced AI Gateway that enforces policies on every AI request and provides a unified control plane.
Proofpoint reported that during the roughly two-and-a-half-hour U.N. Security Council briefing, with 19 speakers, “governance” was used 35 times—more than any other substantive term besides “AI.” The analysis says this reflects a view that oversight must become structural.
The U.N. Security Council held the high-level briefing on AI and international security on September 23, with discussion centered on keeping advanced AI under human control and making autonomous systems observable, accountable and safe.
