Nolan Wells' Friends Find Strength in Faith Amid Public Scrutiny and Tragic Death

The death of Mississippi teen Nolan Wells, who disappeared on July 4, has left his closest friends with whom he identified as friends, but has also strengthened their faith and brought them closer to God. Wells, 18, was found dead at the tip of Horn Island, a barrier island off Mississippi’s Gulf Coast, two days after his disappearance. A Jackson County, Mississippi, grand jury declined to indict anyone in Wells’ death investigation after finding insufficient evidence of criminal wrongdoing. The grand jury found that Wells‘death was consistent with drowning and there was no evidence of racial or criminal involvement. Despite these challenges, Wells’ family and civil rights attorney Ben Crump have challenged the grand jury’s decision, calling for further investigation.
