Israeli Airstrikes in Southern Lebanon Kill Nine People Amid Regional Escalation

Israeli airstrikes on a southern Lebanese village have killed nine people, including women and children, according to Lebanon's Health Ministry. The strikes came amid a new escalation between Israel and Hezbollah. The Iran-backed Houthi rebels claimed to have shot down a Saudi reconnaissance plane, and a senior UAE official said “no single state” should control the Strait of Hormuz. The UAE has faced Iranian missile and drone fire throughout the war and warned that rebuilding trust between Iran and the Gulf countries could take decades.
