Seahawks Quarterback Sam Darnold Exits Season Opener With Hip Injury

Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold sustained a hip injury in the first series of the NFL season opener against the New England Patriots and was ruled out for the rest of the game. Darnook was sacked by Dre'Mont Jones and his right leg appeared to take the brunt of the impact. He limped off the field and was examined in the sideline medical tent before halftime. Backup Drew Lock replaced him. The injury was a setback for the Seahawks in the rematch of last year's Super Bowl, where they beat the Patriots 29-13.
