Corson’s expanded remit now covers global marketing, merchandise, direct-to-consumer operations, and supply chain across Warner Music Group.
2
Warner Records’ roster under Corson’s leadership includes Madonna, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dua Lipa, and Zach Bryan, with additional breakthrough acts Benson Boone, Michael Bublé, Teddy Swims, and Linkin Park highlighted as part of the label’s momentum.

Robert Kyncl described Corson as 'one of the most dynamic, respected, and effective executives in the music business' and said he helped architect Warner Records’ resurgence.

Aaron Bay-Schuck is set to helm Warner Records alone after Corson moves to the corporate COO role, signaling a leadership change within the label’s executive team.
Tom Corson has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer of Warner Music Group, stepping up from his role as Co-Chairman and COO of Warner Records, according to Hollywood Reporter. He now oversees global operations across the entire company, reporting directly to CEO Robert Kyncl.
The move comes as outgoing COO and CFO Armin Zerza steps down for personal reasons, per Yahoo. Louis 'Lou' Dickler, WMG's SVP and Global Controller, will serve as interim CFO while the company searches for a permanent replacement.
Corson's New Remit Spans the Entire WMG Empire
In his new role, Corson takes charge of global marketing, merchandise, direct-to-consumer operations, and supply chain across all of Warner Music Group, according to Barrett Media. That is a major expansion from running a single label. He goes from overseeing Warner Records to managing infrastructure for the whole company.
Kyncl called Corson 'one of the most dynamic, respected, and effective executives in the music business.' He also credited Corson with helping 'architect Warner Records' resurgence.' That is a strong public endorsement as WMG pushes for tighter operational discipline across its global footprint.
Warner Records Rose on Corson's Watch
Corson joined Warner Records as Co-Chairman and COO in 2018. Before that, he served as President and COO of RCA Music Group. Under his leadership, Warner Records built a roster that includes Madonna, Dua Lipa, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Zach Bryan, per Hollywood Reporter.
Breakthrough acts Benson Boone, Michael Bublé, Teddy Swims, and a reformed Linkin Park also added momentum to the label. Still, Warner Records finished midyear at fifth place with a 5.11% market share — a sign there is room to grow even as the label claims a resurgence.
Aaron Bay-Schuck Now Leads Warner Records Alone
With Corson moving up, Co-Chairman Aaron Bay-Schuck will helm Warner Records by himself. The two ran the label together for years. Bay-Schuck praised Corson's 'vision and execution' in public comments tied to the announcement, according to Ramp247.
The shift raises real questions about day-to-day label operations. It is not yet clear whether resources or attention will move away from Warner Records as Corson settles into his broader corporate role. The transition timeline and any departmental reorganization remain undefined, per Hollywood Reporter.
Zerza's Exit Triggers a C-Suite Search
Zerza held the combined COO and CFO title before leaving. His departure for personal reasons triggered the reshuffle. WMG has now split the duties — Corson takes the COO seat while the CFO search runs separately, according to Head Topics.
Dickler steps in as interim CFO to keep finances stable during the search. WMG says it is committed to finding a permanent CFO, but has not given a timeline. The back-to-back leadership changes show how quickly the company is reshaping its executive bench as it pursues long-term growth.
