PKO Investment Management expands mining stakes in Barrick, Kinross, and others during Q1.

Barrick Mining: PKO Investment Management Joint Stock Co increased its stake to 638,302 shares, about 2.2% of its portfolio and the 10th-largest holding, worth roughly $26.03 million; the firm also announced a quarterly dividend paid on June 15.
Kinross Gold: PKO raised its position to 514,201 shares, a 6.5% increase; Kinross Gold makes up about 1.3% of PKO’s holdings and ranks as the fund’s 19th-biggest position, valued at about $15.69 million.
Corteva: PKO boosted its Corteva stake by 58.5% to 30,898 shares (approximately $2.586 million); Corteva is about 81.54% institutional-owned, and analysts have shown activity around the stock with BNP Paribas Exane lifting its target to $77 and Weiss Ratings upgrading Corteva to a buy.
Aris Mining: PKO acquired 94,000 shares, valued at roughly $1.742 million; institutional ownership in Aris Mining sits at about 39.71%.
Endeavour Silver: PKO opened a new position with 137,000 shares, worth about $1.276 million; institutional investors own roughly 20.06% of Endeavour Silver.
Poland's PKO Investment Management boosted its bets on gold, silver, and agricultural chemicals in the first quarter of 2026, raising or opening stakes in five companies across the mining and agro-science sectors. The firm's biggest move was a 19% increase in Barrick Mining, lifting its holding to 638,302 shares worth about $26 million, according to Watchlist News.
The buying spree signals a deliberate shift toward hard assets. PKO, the investment arm of Poland's largest bank, manages roughly $1.2 billion across 220 holdings. Its Q1 activity touched everything from major gold producers to a small silver miner with operations in Mexico, according to Ticker Report.
Barrick Mining is now PKO's 10th-largest holding. The fund added 103,381 shares in Q1, bringing its total to 638,302 shares valued at $26.03 million. Barrick paid a $0.175 per share quarterly dividend on June 15, rewarding shareholders as gold prices climbed, according to Watchlist News.
Kinross Gold got a smaller but still meaningful boost. PKO raised its stake by 6.5% to 514,201 shares, worth about $15.69 million. Kinross is now the fund's 19th-largest position. Kinross had already announced an annualized dividend of $0.16 per share earlier in the year, signaling strong cash flow expectations, according to Ticker Report.
PKO opened a brand-new position in Endeavour Silver, buying 137,000 shares worth about $1.28 million. Institutional investors own just 20% of Endeavour Silver, making PKO's entry notable. The company posted a 230% revenue surge in Q1 2026, reaching $210 million. But rising costs are a concern — its all-in sustaining costs jumped 51%, squeezing margins.
PKO also grabbed 94,000 shares of Aris Mining, valued at roughly $1.74 million. Institutional ownership in Aris sits at about 40%. Aris reported a 136% year-over-year revenue jump in Q1, topping $360 million, according to Watchlist News. Some analysts warn of permitting delays at Aris's Marmato plant, a risk worth watching.
PKO's most aggressive percentage move was in Corteva, the agro-science firm. The fund increased its stake by 58.5% to 30,898 shares, now worth about $2.59 million. Corteva stands apart from the other picks — it makes crop protection chemicals and seeds, not gold or silver.
Analysts have taken notice. BNP Paribas Exane raised its price target on Corteva to $77. Weiss Ratings upgraded the stock to a buy on June 22, citing rising earnings estimates. Institutional investors own 81.54% of Corteva — a sign of deep professional confidence in the company's direction, according to Watchlist News.
PKO's moves fit a larger pattern. Gold prices have climbed fast enough that some Q1 sales cleared $4,800 per ounce. When prices rise faster than the cost to mine gold, profit margins grow quickly. S&P Global analysts note that gold miner margins are on track for record levels in 2026.
Silver is also drawing attention, but for different reasons. Industrial demand — driven by solar panels and electronics — has made silver a harder commodity to replace. PKO's entry into Endeavour Silver, combined with its Corteva stake, points to a "commodities-plus" strategy: precious metals paired with agriculture to hedge against currency swings in Central Europe, according to Ticker Report.
