Hut 8 Corp. Expands AI Infrastructure Strategy With Major Texas Data Center Deals

Hut 8 Corp. (NASDAQ:HUT) is moving towards becoming an AI infrastructure company rather than a Bitcoin miner, opening up significant growth opportunities as demand for power and data-center capacity increases. The company is developing a data center in Nueces County, Texas, to be leased by Nvidia as part of a $35 billion computing agreement with Anthropic. This follows Hut 8’s first major AI infrastructure transaction, a 15-year, $7 billion lease agreement with Fluidstack, and a 15 year, $9.8 billion lease covering 352 megawatts of AI factory capacity at its Beacon Point campus in Nucces County. The duration of these agreements can provide greater revenue visibility than the company’ traditional Bitcoin-mining operations. However, risks include construction delays, power-delivery problems, permitting issues, and cost overruns, which could delay revenue generation further into the future.
